'My Dearest Friend'

I am thrilled to announce that my Regency Romance 'My Dearest Friend' will be available from January 1st. at Wings ePress http://www.wings-press.com/ It will also be available from Amazon and Fictionwise later in the month.

For the first month of its release, I will be giving away freebies (bookmarks or calendar fridgemagnets) to anyone who sends me, via email at hazel.statham1@ntlworld.com , proof of purchase of 'My Dearest
Friend'.

I hope you will all enjoy reading about Robert and Jane as much as I enjoyed writing about them.

Here is a brief blurb:

Robert Blake, Duke of Lear, is a man of intense emotions who loves
deeply and protects fiercely. Devastated and wracked with guilt by
the death of his younger brother, Stefan, in the Peninsular War, he
readily agrees to aid Jane Chandler to bring her seriously wounded
brother back from Portugal.

Much against Jane’s wishes, he decides to accompany her and together
they embark on the hazardous mission to retrieve the young soldier.
However, the journey holds many revelations, not least of all the
abiding friendship and growing love between the two travelers.

That special love is put severely to the test by the treachery that
awaits them upon their return to England, when a tenant of Jane’s
former home invades their lives, maliciously creating jealousy and
misunderstandings for his own nefarious reasons.

Can their friendship and love conquer the emotions that threaten to
tear them asunder?

'Dominic' II

As planned, 'Dominic' was released on August 1st and so far, the feedback has been very positive - thank you!

I was just settling to the idea that I have a book out for sale when it struck me that in just 4 short months, I will have yet another - 'My Dearest Friend'. This is the story of Dominic's son but although the story is of the same family, both books are stand-alones - I just liked the idea of remaining with them a little longer. Here is the blurb for 'My Dearest Friend'

For those who asked about Lucy - she is doing incredibly well. We took her to the specialist oncology vet at the National Animal Health Trust again last week and he says that he doesn't need to see her again until February, which is brilliant. She will of course, continue to see our own vet every month for blood monitoring but for the moment, she is in remission. The chemotherapy is working wonders and she is very bright and energetic.

Welcome to My Blog!

This is the first time I have attempted to blog but I wanted to introduce everyone to Dominic and Sophie the young couple whose delightful courtship you will read about in my upcoming novel 'Dominic' that is due for release with Wings ePress in August 2007. It cannot be described as a conventional courtship but, nonetheless, it is one that I hope will capture your imagination.

Dominic Blake, Earl of Vale, is a young man of privilege and breeding whose world is turned upside-down by Jack, a beautiful young girl in boy's clothing whom he finds sheltering on his doorstep after fleeing an attack by her brother.

As an author, I found this a very easy book to write as Dominic just strode onto the pages and took charge. In fact, the book almost wrote itself. I live in the UK but almost half of this story was written whilst we were on vacation in Florida. It was hurricane season, the trees outside our hotel window were horizontal, my husband snored and I wrote. I have just completed the final edits with my publisher and I am eagerly awaiting the publication date. Please drop by my website
